Problems of laboratory diagnostics and identification of mycobacterium species: literature review

Abstract

Non-tuberculosis mycobacteria are widespread microorganisms that can cause mycobacteriosis in both humans and animals and birds.

The aim of the study is to analyze current ideas about the materials and methods used in the laboratory diagnosis of mycobacteriosis.

Conclusion. Various methods of laboratory diagnostics are used for the diagnosis of mycobacterial infection, but the introduction of new methods of nucleic acid sequencing into routine practice will reduce the time and cost of research, and significantly improve the etiological diagnosis of mycobacteriosis.
