Vaccination of people with chronic pathology (material for preparing the lecture)

Abstract

Vaccination of people with chronic pathology is currently of particular importance. Preventive vaccinations contribute to the formation of this vulnerable population not only specific immunity to controlled infections, but also activate the innate immune system to protect against new, as yet insufficiently studied infections. The materials for the preparation of the lecture present the general principles of vaccination of people with chronic diseases. Currently used vaccine preparations are safe and effective; chronic pathology is not a contraindication for vaccination; vaccinated patients have a reduced risk of exacerbation of chronic diseases. The main approaches to vaccination of patients with allergic diseases, pathology of the nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular systems, gastrointestinal tract, etc. are presented. Information on the terms and conditions of preventive vaccinations for this cohort of patients is presented. The priority role of vaccines against pneumococcal infection and influenza in the vaccination of people with chronic pathology is shown. Submitted materials can be useful for both medical students and doctors of various specialties - pediatricians, infectious diseases specialists, epidemiologists, bacteriologists.
