Clinical and laboratory characteristics of the outbreak of meningococcal infection

AbstractA clinico-laboratory examination of 16 patients from foci of meningococcal infection admitted for treatment in the infectious clinical hospital during the april-may of 2006. With the help of bacteriological and serological methods in 14 (87.5%) patients with meningococcal infection is presented. A clinical smoothness, the presence of complications in the form of pneumonia in 29% and absence of lethal cases were peculiarities of this outbreak.
