Estimation of Russian medical universities performance based on multidimensional analysis methods

AbstractThe monitoring of educationaL institutions performance on various indicators groups is annuaLLy carried out by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. Target indicators, determined for each group act as integraL quaLity quantitative criteria of educationaL services provision. It is naturaL that the probLem of educationaL institutions rating determination in the specific homogeneous groups as the cLusters of educationaL institutions on the set of criteria becomes reLevant. The paper uses the metricaL approach to the activity performance estimation of universities of the Russian Federation that assumes the distance caLcuLation among them as among the points of muLtidimensionaL space in the coordinate system corresponding to the set of criteria in their various activities directions. The university rating is set in accordance with the distance to the reference institution with the best performance across the cLuster. The method is easy to be impLemented in the statisticaL package environment, and can be used for indicating the promising (unpromising) educationaL institutions.
