Measles in the Repablic of Mordovia: clinical and epidemiological aspects

AbstractDespite advances in the prevention of measles it remains a common disease in the world. We analyzed the clinical and basic epidemiological, laboratory indicators for measles in the Republic of Mordovia from 2004 to 2015. The work reflects the characteristics of the epidemic process of the infection. It is noted that the disease often occurs in young people of working age without a history of measles, unvaccinated or partially vaccinated. It is described the basic clinical manifestations, especially catarrhal period peculiarities, fever peculiarities, rash peculiarities, the defeat of the gastrointestinal tract and liver is noted. It is shown that in the most cases the disease proceeds typically. For some patients there were no phasing rashes, a one-time occurrence of the exanthema was noted or it was appearing for a long time with some rashes occuring over the knuckles. The high percentage of patients with gastrointestinal symptoms and the development of reactive hepatitis is noted.
