Human metapneumovirus and Bocavirus infections in children (according to data of in-patient department of hospital # 59, Penza Region, Zarechny city)

AbstractIn the article results of analysis of clinical features of metapneumovirus and human Bocavirus infections are presented for the children hospitalized in infectious department of in-patient department # 59, Penza region, Zarechny city. 704 patients with clinical picture of ARVI were exanimated in infectious in-patient department. Etiologic verification of ARVI came true by an exposure RNA and DNA of viruses in epipharyngeal sequestrate by using Real-time PCR method. In 5.97% cases metapneumovirus infection (HMPV) was elicited, in 2.56% cases - human Bocavirus (HBoV) was elicited, in 4.12% a mixt-infection was elicited. Gender and age-related features of these infections were studied. Clinical manifestations of HBoV- and HMPV infection were characterized by defeat of upper and lower respiratory tract limbs. In 50% of cases clinical findings were limited by tracheitis and bronchitis implications. For 29.4% patients with Bocavirus infection and for 51.3% patients with metapneumovirus infection the disease was complicated by pneumonia development.
