Early differential diagnosis of acute intestinal infections and acute appendicitis in patients with diarrhea syndrome

Abstract

In order to improve the differential diagnosis of acute intestinal infections and acute appendicitis day admissions to hospital it was developed early differential diagnostic criteria based on clinical and laboratory parameters available for general clinical practice. From the standpoint of diagnostic accuracy were analyzed informative hematological and biochemical parameters, as well as indicators of acid-base balance of blood. It was developed the algorithm of differential diagnosis of acute intestinal infections and acute appendicitis, which was the definition of differential diagnostic criteria (DDC) on the basis of the levels of glucose and total bilirubin, as well as the percentage of blood monocytes.
