Chikungunya fever

Abstract

Chikungunya fever – a serious natural-focal viral infection with transmission by mosquitoes of the family Aedes, in recent decades has significantly expanded area of propagation and showed the ability to take root in the southern regions of Europe. Despite the low level of mortality in acute form, subacute and chronic form of Chicungunya fever cause ill with severe and prolonged disability. Tools a specific prevention and treatment of disease has not yet been developed. We consider the new data on the epidemiology, pathogenesis and classification of clinical manifestation of infection.
