Development of continuing medical education in the discipline «infectious diseases»

Abstract

The model structure of continuing medical education in the discipline of infectious diseases can be presented in four related blocks which are directed towards the perfection of professional competency required by health practice with the accreditation of specialists.

Block A is presented as an innovative technological discipline which is determined by new hypothesis founded on scientific and medical principles. This block is closely connected with the adjacent disciplines which are considered in the development of a program for professional TU in the framework of the NMO.

Block B includes the acquisition by the listener of new information with subsequent control which is done by an attested commission or professional society for the confirmation of competency in the branch of infectious diseases.

Block C is directed towards the quality development of medical services to the population on the basis of acquired new theoretical knowledge and practical skills with the consideration of medical principles.

And lastly, block D evaluates the influence of the new practitioner on the outcome of medical services whereby the main part is the level of professional competency by the doctor together with the evaluation of criteria validation of the practical work. Thus the system model of the organization NMO and improvement of doctor qualification have a basic cycle which starts from knowledge to action.
