Antiretroviral therapy and therapy of chronic hepatitis С in HIV-infected patients

Abstract

Modern regimens of antiretroviral therapy can significantly improve the lifetime and quality of life of patients with co-infection HIV/HCV. Therefore, the appointment of the treatment of HIV infection and chronic hepatitis C should consider the likelihood drug-drug interactions, sex and age characteristics of the patients and the presence of comorbidities. Available drugs in the arsenal of the physician can not only take into account the characteristics and the risks of developing of adverse events for a patient, but also to minimize hepatotoxic, nephrotoxic and possibly neurotoxic effects of drugs.
